Contribute a Canine
CGHS/SPCA has a dog sponsorship program called Contribute a Canine whereby an approved person can adopt a dog without incurring the usual $100 adoption fee, which is instead paid by a sponsor. A specific dog will be associated with each sponsorship.
The purpose of our dog sponsorship program is to bring attention to the many wonderful dogs who often go unnoticed simply because of their age, and to bring extra attention to those dogs who have spent a long time at the Shelter waiting to be adopted. We do not euthanize adoptable animals, so a dog stays with us as long as it takes until he or she is adopted. This program is also an excellent way to encourage an existing dog owner to adopt another dog.
The same requirements for potential adopters are required for dogs adopted via the Contribute a Canine Program, and all dogs adopted from the Shelter are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, disease tested and provided with collars, leashes and ID tags. For more information on the Contribute a Canine Club, you can email us on the Contact page, or call us at (518) 828-6044.
