It is our hope that you would share with us the pride of being associated with one of the finest animal welfare organizations in New York State. Your membership allows us to provide the best services to animals in need. Your support does make a difference. The Columbia-Greene Humane Society/SPCA receives no federal, state or county funding. We rely on our members to fund the good work our Shelter staff does every day. I am happy to say our small Shelter continues to be a leader in new and innovative programs and services for animals in need.
Often people tell me that it breaks their heart to see animals at the Shelter, especially animals that have been with us for more than a year. My response is always the same. As sad as it may be, the animals that are fortunate enough to be with us often experience the best care there’ve ever had. All our animals are handled with affection, and we are mindful of their individual needs. Dogs are walked daily by trained volunteers and are permitted to play in outdoor runs. Cats are permitted to play with other cats in our indoor/outdoor play areas. Sadly, in most cases these animals have never received the amount of care and affection they receive at our Shelter. We rehabilitate many animals that other animal organizations would euthanize, and we’re proud of that commitment.
Your continued support will ensure we continue to provide the best care to animals that are lost, injured, neglected and/or abused. For more information on receiving a membership at CGHS/SPCA, you can email us on the Contact page, or call us at (518) 828-6044 ext. 101.
