Two-time Grammy and Academy award winner Melissa Etheridge has made a big donation to help the CGHS/SPCA New Shelter Fund. The legendary singer/songwriter has donated two tickets to her 4th Street Feeling Tour, anywhere in the United States. To complement the tickets, the Grammy award winning rocker will also give a backstage meet and greet before the concert, where the winner will have the opportunity to meet the legend and receive a signed item. Also, Ms. Etheridge donated a signed, eleven-CD library including the album “Yes I Am,” which carries the Grammy winning song “Come to my Window.”

CGHS/SPCA is beginning a Capital Campaign to build a new shelter. The current facility was built decades ago and has long outlived its usefulness. The goal is to begin construction on the new CGHS/SPCA Shelter in the spring of 2013.

“We are so grateful to Ms. Etheridge for her generosity. It’s not every day that a celebrity of this magnitude steps up to help an animal shelter, and we feel honored by her donations,” said Ron Perez, President/CEO of CGHS/SPCA.

The Melissa Etheridge donations will be offered in two raffles.

The first raffle will contain the two concert tickets and the backstage meet and greet with Melissa Etheridge, winner’s choice of location/date on the current 4th Street Feeling Tour, October 3 through November 15, 2012. This tour hits The Palace in Albany, NY on Friday, October 26, 2012. This raffle will be $20 per entry and is limited to 500 entries.

The second raffle will include the eleven signed Melissa Etheridge CD collection. This raffle will be $10 per entry and is also limited to 500 entries.

Both raffles begin September 1, 2012 and conclude on September 27, 2012. To be eligible, all entries must be received by 4:00 PM EST, September 27, 2012. Winners for both raffles will be drawn on September 28.

All proceeds from both raffles will benefit the CGHS/SPCA New Shelter Fund.
