Julia Thomas, a 3rd grader at Taconic Hills Elementary School, was asked to raise funds for a local non-profit organization in her area. Julia, a lover of animals herself, chose the Columbia-Greene Humane Society/SPCA as her non-profit of choice and raised $160 for the cats and dogs awaiting new homes there. In the picture, Â 8 year old Julia is pictured with Zipper, a cat currently up for adoption.
