The Columbia-Greene Humane Society/SPCA has received a $75,000 grant from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). The ASPCA awarded CGHS/SPCA this grant to support spaying and neutering of dogs and cats for low-income families. The shelter has collaborated with Chathams Small Animal Hospital to provide these services, and the surgeries will be performed in the surgical suite at the new CGHS/SPCA’s new facility, which opened in February of this year.
“We deeply appreciate the support from the ASPCA, and we’re proud to be partnered with an organization that also assists local animals in need,” said Ron Perez, President/Investigator at CGHS/SPCA.
