On Saturday, January 10, 2015, the staff of the Blue Plate Restaurant, located at 1 Kinderhook Street in Chatham, NY, will be hosting their 12th Annual Post-Holiday Party to benefit the Columbia-Greene Humane Society/SPCA. Since this event began supporting CGHS/SPCA, it has raised more than one hundred thousand dollars for the shelter, which serves nearly one thousand unwanted, abandoned, lost and/or abused animals every year.

All the food is donated by the staff and friends of the Blue Plate.

The cost is $25 per person, more if you can afford it or less if you can’t. The food is buffet style, and will be accompanied by music from local bands, belly dancers, and a cash bar. In addition, there will be a silent auction and raffles. The benefit runs from 5 p.m. until “whenever.”

This year we’re continuing our tradition of a great party to benefit a really great cause. The Columbia-Greene Humane Society and the hundreds of animals that they help each year, so please come out and have a fun evening with us!” said Marcia Curran and Colleen Carpenter-Rice, co-organizers. For more information or to donate silent auction items, please contact Marcia at, Colleen at or the Columbia-Greene Humane Society/SPCA at (518) 828-6044, or by email at
