The Girl Scouts of Troop 1210 genuinely showed that they care about issues that impact their community when they delivered ONE HUNDRED — yes, that was 100 — “take home” bags to provide start-up kits for families who adopt an animal from the Columbia-Greene Humane Society/SPCA.  Goodies to fill the bags were collected with the help of the community and local businesses including Wal-Mart in Hudson, Dollar Store in Kinderhook, Crosseyed Owl Gifts, Mario’s True Value and ShopRite.

This welcomed delivery is an integral part of the Troop’s efforts to achieve the Girl Scout Silver Award which recognizes girls who demonstrate leadership, community service, and personal growth and is the highest award a Cadet (girls in 6th to 8th grade) can earn.

Our lobby is overflowing

The members of Troop 1210 are no stranger to helping the animals sheltered at our facility.  Out of their love of animals and desire to help the CGHS/SPCA, the “take home” bag project was initiated a few years ago for their Bronze Award.

Thank you Paige, Heather, Mackenzie and Emily!
