The Columbia-Greene Humane Society/SPCA has received $17,000 in grants from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The ASPCA awarded CGHS/SPCA three grants to support their work on behalf of animals: $10,000 as a Response Partner for assisting the ASPCA with large scale cruelty interventions and natural disaster relief; $3,000 for medical needs of animals that were victims of cruelty; and $4,000 to assist CGHS/SPCA’s low-cost cat spay/neuter program. The low-cost feline spay/neuter program has spayed or neutered more 13,000 cats since its inception in 2003.
