Paragallo Sentence Upheld; Also Banned from NY Tracks

On Thursday, March 31st, 2011, Ernie Paragallo lost his appeal of sentencing for two years in prison upon conviction on 33 counts of animal cruelty.  In a separate move, the NYS Racing and Wagering Board voted the same day to permanently ban Paragallo from all racetracks in the state of New York.   The Columbia-Greene Humane Society/SPCA and the New York State Police raided and seized 177 starved and neglected horses on Paragallo’s Center Brook Farm in Coxsackie in April of 2009 .
