The Columbia-Greene Humane Society/SPCA (CGHS/SPCA) will be opening a satellite Pet Food Bank in Catskill. Currently, CGHS/SPCA maintains a Pet Food Bank at the shelter’s home location at 111 Humane Society Road in Claverack, NY. The shelter’s Food Bank is open seven days a week from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The new satellite Pet Food Bank opens this Monday, March 14, and will be located at Hyer Expectations Fitness Studio, 8 West Bridge Street, Catskill, across from Cone-E Island Ice Cream. The Food Bank will be open to the public on Mondays from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. CGHS/SPCA’s Food Banks supply pet food at no cost to families who are experiencing financial hardships.

People wishing to donate food to the Banks may do so at either location. Donations must be in unopened bags, and all food donations are deeply appreciated. Last year, through this service, CGHS/SPCA supplied 34,000 pounds of food to pet-owning families in need. For questions or more information, please contact CGHS/SPCA by email at info@cghs.org or by phone at (518) 828-6044.
