Hundreds showed up at the Hudson Elks lodge on November 16, 2013, to raise money in support of the Columbia-Greene Humane Society/SPCA’s building fund. Organized by CGHS/SPCA supporter Terri Sullivan, Mary Jo Gibson (wife of U.S. Congressman Chris Gibson), and Columbia County Clerk Holly Tanner, the event attracted participants from all age groups and went on well into the night, raising over $1,200 for the new shelter.

“Mary Jo and I were honored to support the great work done by the Columbia-Greene Humane Society along with so many others in our community. Both personally and through my work in Congress, I will continue to be a champion of the Humane Society and look toward working together moving forward,” stated Congressman Gibson of the event.

The check was presented in the new Columbia-Greene Humane Society/SPCA shelter, scheduled to open in 2014.
