All adoption fees will be sponsored during the month of October at the Columbia-Greene Humane Society/SPCA (CGHS/SPCA).

In an effort to find forever homes for all the animals at CGHS/SPCA, the shelter’s adoption fees will be waived for the entire month of October. Normal adoption fees are $200 for dogs and $75 for cats. The adoption fees will be sponsored by a volunteer of CGHS/SPCA. Currently, CGHS/SPCA has a great selection of cats, kittens, dogs, rabbits, and guinea pigs.

Potential adopters are encouraged to fill out an adoption application online to be pre-approved for adoptions at cghs.org. For more information, please email the shelter by email at [email protected] or by phone at (518) 828-6044 ext. 100.

Allow us to feature a couple of our furry friends who are looking forward to packing their bag:

Truffles is a two-year-old Staffordshire Terrier mix who’s been calling the shelter home for over a year. He’s grown up with us here, loving every person he comes into contact with. Unfortunately, he just tends to be a little rambunctious, so Truffles needs a home that’s prepared for his energy. He can’t be placed with small children for that reason. He also tends to be a little overwhelming for certain dogs – but likes others with similar energy. He’s super smart and has done incredible with training at the shelter…he’ll just need a home willing to continue that. If you have room in your heart and home, consider this guy!

…and, meet Phil, the most loveable feline! He’s been at the shelter since June, being overlooked many times for bouncy, playful kittens. He’s an absolute sweetheart of a cat – loving to get cuddles and to be patted. He’ll make the best companion over the winter months, just wanting a lap to snuggle up on!
