Residents of East Chatham stepped up big for the Columbia-Greene Humane Society/SPCA! East Chatham native Deb Tuttle organized a pet food drive party to support the shelter’s Food Bank, which provides free pet food to families who are experiencing financial hardships. The drive brought in more than five hundred pounds of food for the pantry. “Having this food pantry providing for families in need is a one of the most significant factors in keeping animals that otherwise face being surrendered to the shelter in their homes. We deeply appreciate Ms. Tuttle and her efforts, and all our friends in East Chatham who made this commitment to our community’s animals,” said Ron Perez, President/CEO of CGHS/SPCA. The Food Bank is open seven days a week from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and donations of food and/or funds to the Bank are tax deductible.
