Animal lovers from Columbia, Greene, and surrounding counties showed up in impressive numbers to support the Columbia-Greene Humane Society/SPCA (CGHS/SPCA) after an announcement of a partnership between CGHS/SPCA and Message In A Bottle redemption center. The opening weekend raised over $1,400 to help the shelter provide programs and services to five thousand-plus animals served each year. The partnership is ongoing, and supporters can drop off NYS redeemable beverage containers to Message in a Bottle at 9 Healy Boulevard, Hudson, NY, and ask that they credit the CGHS/SPCA account. For hours of operation for Message in a Bottle redemption center, please visit them on Facebook or call (518) 929-9418.
