On Tuesday May 18th, 2010, Ernie Paragallo was sentenced to the maximum of two years in prison and a fine of $33,000 after he was convicted on 33 counts of animal cruelty. This brought to an end to a yearlong saga started back in April of 2009 when the Columbia-Greene Humane Society/SPCA and the New York State Police raided Paragallo’s Center Brook Farm  in Coxsackie. 177 horses were seized during that raid which led to Mr. Paragallo’s arrest on 35 counts of animal cruelty.
