The Columbia-Greene Humane Society is pleased to announce our Free Adoption Week, starting on Saturday, October 18, 2025, and ending on Saturday, October 25. During that week, all cats, dogs, and small animals will be available for adoption at no cost.
This special event has been made possible through the generous support of Subaru, as a part of their nationwide Subaru Loves Pets® initiative, which aims to support animal welfare organizations and help shelter pets find loving homes.
In preparation for the event, potential adopters are strongly encouraged to submit adoption applications in advance, as same-day approvals are not guaranteed. Early submission helps ensure a smoother process and allows more time for application review.

In addition, the Columbia-Greene Humane Society will be on-site at RC Lacy Ford Subaru, located at 25 Maple Ave #9W in Catskill, NY, on Friday, October 10, from noon to 3:00 pm. Staff will be available to answer questions about the adoption process, accept donations, and introduce the public to a couple of our shelter’s adoptable dogs.
