For Immediate Release
The Columbia-Greene Humane Society/SPCA is urgently seeking donations to replace a broken heat pump in the shelter’s incoming dog wing. This wing serves as the first step for many dogs that are victims of cruelty, neglect, abandonment, or are simply unwanted. These dogs, many of whom are scared, confused, and traumatized, are in desperate need of a safe and controlled environment as they begin their rehabilitation journey.
The current heat pump, which is beyond repair, is essential to maintaining a stable environment in the shelter’s dog wing. The replacement unit, a Carrier Green Speed heat pump, will cost $14,500. This high-efficiency system provides both heating and cooling, ensuring a safe and comfortable space for the most vulnerable animals in our care.
We rely on the support of our generous donors to help us provide the best care for our animals, and we are grateful for every contribution. Donations are tax-deductible, and there are multiple ways to give, including stock transfers and required minimum distributions (RMD). Every donation, no matter the size, will make a significant difference in the lives of these animals.
Donations can be mailed to: CGHS/SPCA, 111 Humane Society Road, Hudson, NY 12534 Attn: Rebecca Warner or donate through our website at
